Ok, so I want a new digital camera. I currently have a Kodak EasyShare that is 4 MP. This camera is used?

4MP is sufficient. Few lenses are good enough to be of use with higher resolution. The optical zoom is through the lens, much better than digital zoom. Get a magazine with a review of digital compacts up to 6 MP and at least a 3x optical zoom. Go to the one that suits your needs and budget. Do not be blinded by science.
